Starting in October, Wildwood Nature School is offering two great new programs! We will hold weekly art classes for children ages 2-4 and 4-6, and begin a once a week parent/child toddler class for children ages 1 – 3.
Tiny Seeds Parent Child Classes are for children ages 1-3 and their caregivers.
More than a playgroup! Parents learn and grow with their children as the group explores a carefully designed play space, participates in art and circle time activities chosen specifically for the very young, cooks and shares a vegetarian snack, discovers the world outdoors, and socializes in an introductory preschool setting. Depending on the size of the group (limited to no more than 10 children), one or two experienced early childhood educators will lead the group and be available to answer parenting questions.
Classes are two hours in duration, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday mornings, and the Fall session runs October 4 – December 13, with one break for Thanksgiving on November 22. Price is $260 for the fall session.
Preschool and Kindergarten Art Classes starting in October.
Creating art helps young children develop imagination, creativity, and self-esteem as well as early math skills, such as, spatial awareness, pattern, and symmetry. At Wildwood Nature School, the focus is on the process of making art – learning about color, line, and shape and experiencing different media – rather than on achieving a pre-determined “ideal” result. We offer two classes, each tailored to a particular age group. The classes are drop-off, although parents are welcome to stay if they like. $72 per session, includes materials fee
Tuesdays 10:00 am – 11:00 am, ages 2-4
Session 1 (October 2 – 30) Art Exploration – Children will explore a variety of media and processes for creating art.
Session 2 (November 6 – December 11, no class Thanksgiving Week) Sticky Fingers – Art created with glue and other adhesives.
Tuesdays 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm, ages 4-6
Session 1 (October 2 – 30) Natural Arts – Children will use items collected on nature walks to paint, print, collage, and create.
Session 2 (November 6 – December 11, no class Thanksgiving Week) Homemade Cards and Gifts – Children will create artwork perfect for giving to family and friends.
