You are officially invited to visit this unique creative space to craft, color, write, bind, pose, reuse and more as discover characters and tell stories. While there you may find yourself crafting a book, telling a story, discovering a character, or making your cover.

Craft a Book with Oregon College of Art and Craft (OCAC)

Learn how a few simple folds and one cut on a piece of paper can create a unique book for your stories and artwork. After working with your friends at OCAC you’ll be able to make books in all sorts of sizes using simple items around your home!

Make a cover with Rachael May Photography

The cover of a book creates impact for the reader. What better way to support your child’s creativeness then placing your child’s photo on the front of his or her carefully crafted story book? And as a bonus, you now have an amazing keepsake image bundled with a snippet of childhood imagination.

Create a Character with Tears of Joy Theatre

Craft costumes, hats, masks and your own puppet characters to bring your story to life!

Tell a Story with the  Youth Art Program at the 100th Monkey Studios

Come get creative in multiple mediums! Is it time to write your story, or perhaps begin the first draft? Draw your characters or work on a collage to animate your story!

Let your creative juices flow and tell your story at PDX Kids Calendar Story Land at the 2012 Wordstock Book Fair. Free with admission to Wordstock Festival 2012. All ages welcome.

Oregon College of Art and Craft is a creative community in Portland offering graduate, undergraduate degrees and certificates and continuing education for adults and children.

 

Real life, perfect moments! Rachael May focuses on creating a positive experience from the moment you inquire until you receive your beautiful pictures. She focuses on family photography, which includes Maternity, Birth, Newborns, and Seniors. Rachael May is a recognized member of the National Association of Professional Child Photographers and a published Birth Photographer.

Tears of Joy Theatre has been a staple to Portland’s theatre scene for 41 years. Our mission is to produce, develop, and present puppet theatre that celebrates the diversity of world cultures; and to teach children and enrich their lives by helping them experience, create, and perform art with professional artists.

The Youth Program at The 100th Monkey Studio is about allowing youth to explore a variety of expressive art forms from writing, visual arts /crafts, art history, and more! Our mission is to expose and guide youth through new fine arts and crafts techniques. We encourage youth to find their own voice through the process of making art. The studio provides a safe and creative space for young artists to have fun, develop new friendships and gain self-confidence while taking safe and healthy risks!

SCRAP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to inspire creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing educational programs and affordable materials to the community. SCRAP offers children’s day camps, field trips, birthday parties for people age six to 106, and all ages workshops.
