PORTLAND PARENTING SUPPORT/PLAY GROUPS

Clackamas County has 10 playgroups coordinated by Healthy Start, which are free for all families and children from ages 0 to 5. Locations are in Canby, Clackamas, Gladstone, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Stafford/Tualatin, West Linn, and Wilsonville at various dates and times. Check here for all the details.
Mocha Moms Chat and Playgroup: Join the Portland Metro Mocha Moms at Milagros for good conversation and good company. This is the Portland chapter of a nationwide support group for mothers of color who have decided not to work full-time outside of the home. All ages.

Stealing Time Writing Play Group at Eco Baby Gear. If you’ve ever longed to focus more on your writing, but fallen short due to time, money, circumstances and the presence of small children in your life, first: you are exactly like us. Second: we want to help. Think of this as a homeschool MFA, but with no residency and only the commitment you can muster. We will work on writing while our children play nearby; expect to be challenged and to be enveloped.

Mommy & Me with a Jewish Twist. Join other moms and bond with your child while exploring their Jewish world through play, music, movement, stories and crafts. Class meets in a preschool classroom with age apropriate toys. Healthy snacks are provided. No charge. A community project of The Gan in conjuction with The PJ Library Portland. You can pop in for a class or join the entire session!

Spanish Playgroup. The purpose of this group is to expose little ones to español through song, play, rhymes and reading books out loud.

PDX Sign Baby. Signing based playgroup/class. Activities include read-alouds, songs, action rhymes, parachute games. Plenty of time to meet and socialize with other parents.

New Fathers’ Meetup/Workshop: Need some tools to get you through the rough spots of being a new father? Come and meet other new and soon-to-be dads in a casual environment where you can grab coffee and ask questions — the real questions — and get answers. Run by Dad and Counselor Sam Stevens, MS, LMFT, this group is just for Dads. More details on Meetup.

Community dads group: Come, spend time with your child and meet other dads and their children. This is a volunteer run group offered through the resources of Impact NW, a non-profit organization offering educational and social services to the Portland metro area.

Queer Parents of Portland (QPoP) is for all queer parents no matter your gender (or lack there of) and no matter the age of your little ones. The group embraces community and is meant to provide the support of other queer parents in the area and provide a social setting for families to mingle.
