Q. What is your favorite thing to do in Portland with your kids?
A. Watching live music at coffee/pizza shops! There are some really fun children’s musicians here.

Q. What do you like to do on sunny days in PDX?
A. Walks with the whole family around our neighborhood to see all of the cool plants, pets and construction vehicles.

Q. What do you like to do on rainy days in PDX?
A. The science museum & children’s museum are old favorites of Grady’s, but I think he likes putting on his boots & raincoat and stomping through big puddles just as much!

Q. How do you balance being a dad with other priorities (work, hobbies, etc)?
A. It helps to remind yourself that being a dad, work and hobbies are all engaging, fun and stressful in different ways. They complement each other nicely in that respect and make it easy to look forward to one while taking a break from the others.

Q. What’s your favorite story/memory of being with your kid(s)?
A: When Grady walked into the hospital room to meet Clara for the first time holding a long-awaited hot chocolate in one hand, he abruptly stopped short, zoned right in on his sister, pointed slowly with his free hand at her, and simply said “DAT.” It was the first time our whole family was all in the same room together.
