Founded in August of 2010, Metro Parent’s PDX Kids Calendar has become the go-to resource for families looking for fun activities in Portland, Oregon. We have the most comprehensive listing of kid-friendly events in Portland/Vancouver – not to mention reviews, giveaways, and many other valuable resources for local parents and families. We also publish twice weekly newsletters and garner over a hundred thousand page views each month.
Advertising with us online, your ad will reach your target market every time. Our readers are families looking for fun and exciting opportunities to experience Portland with their children. They are parents and caregivers of children who live, play, eat and shop in their community. They are invested in “living local” and are up on everything happening around the Portland/Vancouver metro. In other words, they are an ideal audience for local businesses who wants to reach Portland families.

Website advertising is a great way to reach our readers – who visit the site all the time looking for things to do in Portland with their families!
The large square and rectangle ads all appear rotating in 10 spots along the right side of all pages of our site (all visible all the time). Banner appears in rotation along top, in the masthead (one visible at a time).
As you know we are doing giveaways all the time – and our readers LOVE them! Here at PDX Kids Calendar we offer businesses wanting to donate their product or service for giveaways to our readers and get “out of the box” promotion of their product or service our “Sponsored Giveaways.” Giveaways are great because you are giving our readers an opportunity to interact with you – they get lots of information, a visual and an opportunity to visit your website and interact with you via social media!
The cost of these giveaways is a flat rate of $195.00 (on top of what’s being given away), and includes:
- Featured post for duration of giveaway (5-6 days). Post will include details up to 2 paragraphs and a graphic (720Wx379H) – provided by you
- Inclusion in newsletters while giveaway is active (Wednesday and Sunday)
- Social media pushes (at our discretion)
- Option to include liking your page on FB, following you on twitter or subscribing to your enewsletter for entry.
All of our giveaways are run the same way. We use a widget called “Rafflecopter” which gives us lots of options to get our readers to interact with your business! Generally we give entries for liking our Facebook page, following us on Twitter, subscribing to our newsletter – with the same options available to you. We also give them entries for liking the post on our page or giving out compliments (about you or us). You can see examples of our giveaways here. Giveaways run Wednesday to Monday, or Sunday to Thursday.
SPONSORED DEDICATED POST
500-700 words of text plus images and large feature image (720Wx379H). Will be featured on landing page of site for one week then remain within the posts archive. $195 per post. Example here.
EVENTS CALENDAR INCLUSION
Perhaps you’d like to gain some exposure for your event, sale, open house, class etc, and it falls outside of our guidelines for free inclusion (details here) on the Events Calendar. In general we are still happy to include your event. Event will be included as “Sponsored: Name of event” for a charge of $45/day for each event.
